About Us

Our Mission

Hoop Nation is a non-profit AAU Boys Basketball club dedicated to teaching boys the fundamentals necessary to be successful in the game of basketball and life.  The club strives to instill the following positive characteristics in our players: passion, dedication, teamwork and leadership.  All building blocks to being a success on and off the court.

Our Court

Hoop Nation is open to all players primarily from the Capital District Region of NYS.  We will play in approximately 5-6 tournaments during the 2010 spring/summer season including 3 regional travel events.  We take pride in delivering a club atmosphere where most teams travel and stay together at out of town tournaments.

Our Game Plan

We are dedicated to building one of the premier youth basketball programs in the Capital Region.   Our coaches focus on the fundamentals of the game to develop and equip players with skills necessary to be successful on the competitive high school and college levels.  Since practice is essential to building fundamentals all our teams strive to formally train twice a week on dedicated nights during our AAU season.

Our Teams

Hoop Nation fields teams in 8 different competitive age groups.  Our Developmental Program (10U to 14U) focuses on skills development to prepare players for the modified and high school level of play.  Our College Showcase Program gives competitive high school players (15U to 17U) the opportunity to advance their games to a higher intensity level by participating in College Showcase tournaments.  Hoop Nation is affiliated with one of the premier college showcase and recruiting services in the NE, Hoop Mountain. Our Coaches

Hoop Nation strives to attract some of the most qualified volunteer coaches in the area.  All 2009 coaches were either ex-college players or have coached at the high school or college levels.
